At the Core
The Curriculum is based on diocesan, state and national standards. Emphasis is on a strong, traditional core curriculum of religion, reading, English, writing, mathematics, spelling, science, and social studies. Writing and technology are incorporated across disciplines. The curriculum also includes art, library science, music, physical education, and Spanish.
Experiential Learning
Fifth grade students attend Camp Wesley Woods where they take advantage of nature's classroom while developing an integral understanding of the environment and our role in it. They interact tangibly with the environment, and integrate their new experiences with the knowledge base gained in the classroom.
Students and their families can also participate in a school-wide family nights where hands-on activities are performed to encourage excitement and curiosity in science, math, or reading.
Third and fourth grade students are assigned middle school “reading buddies” and read with them monthly. |
