The religious education imparted to students at Saint Joseph School is the most important work of each day. Religion is not just a separate class added on, but is an integral part of every class. Students learn the mysteries of the faith according to their own levels of understanding and experience. All religion lessons spring forth from one of our most basic teachings: God is love.
Students are given numerous opportunities to participate in liturgical and para-liturgical events, some of which include active participation at Mass, Benediction and Eucharistic Adoration, Stations of the Cross, all-school retreats on Holy Days, prayer services, May Procession and Crowning, and a monthly gathering to pray the Rosary. Students also participate in service projects for the Church and community. Saint Joseph School hosts a very active Legion of Mary for interested students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade.
The sacramental life is a vital part of the spiritual formation of children and adults at Saint Joseph School. Priests from the various parishes play an active role in the spiritual formation of our students. Mass is offered in our chapel each day and students have frequent opportunities to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Catholic faith and moral life has implications for how students and staff treat one another each day.
