The religious education program is based on the document,
To Teach as Jesus Did.
Students learn the mysteries of the faith according to their own levels of understanding and experience. Specific religion curriculum information is available in the academic section of the school website.
Teachers integrate basic Christian principals of the Catholic Church with all other aspects of the instructional program. Students are given numerous opportunities to participate in liturgical and Para-liturgical functions, some of which include attendance at Mass, Benediction and Eucharistic Adoration, Stations of the Cross, class retreats, prayer services and recitation of the Holy Rosary. Students also participate in service projects for the Church and community.
Through prayer St. Joseph School students grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Church and become aware of the increasing interdependence among people and nations of the world. They are asked to translate their Christian values and beliefs into action which coinsides with the church's teaching ministry. Teachers also encourage Christian behavior in the classroom and during school activities.
Our pastors and associate pastors visit classrooms during the school year to discuss with students the teachings of the Church.
